Canadian Firearms Safety Course / Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course | (CFSC & CRFSC)

These courses are a prerequisite to receive your Possession and Acquisition License (PAL, non-restricted firearms license) and your Restricted Possession and Acquisition License (RPAL, restricted firearms license). The courses will take place in Petawawa, Ontario but are open to students from all over Ontario including Chalk River, Deep River, Mattawa, North Bay, Pembroke, Beachburg, Renfrew, Arnprior, and Ottawa.

Back-to-Back (CFSC & CRFSC)

You will learn:

  • Basic firearms safety practices
  • Ammunition types and storage
  • Operating firearm actions
  • Safe handling and carry procedures
  • Responsibilities of the firearms owner/user
  • Safe storage, display, transportation, and handling of firearms
  • Minors who successfully complete the CFSC course can apply for a Minor’s Licence (more information)

Prerequisites

  • Aged 18+ to apply for PAL with restricted privileges
  • Minors may take the CRFSC course for educational purposes only with parental consent (To apply for a PAL after the age of 18, students must retake the course and pass the written and practical exams)

Additional Details

  • 100% course attendance is required to complete the test
  • Retests must be taken within 30 days

Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC)

Includes a minimum of 6 hours of classroom instruction, and test.

Cost: $210 +tax

Cost within 30 days of CFSC: $170 +tax
